Counsellor in Training 4-Week Summer Program (Ages 14-15)
The Counsellor-in-Training (“CIT”) program is a month-long program for teens ages 14-15 who have a passion for water sports, working with children and to develop their leadership skills in a hands-on environment. By being a CIT, teens train to become future leaders by developing leadership, communication and interpersonal skills; building self-esteem, and learning basic training in skills such as first aid, time management and waterman skills. This is a unique opportunity to spend the summer mentoring younger campers, building new paddling and surfing skills, and making new friends. The CITs help to create the Camp Counsellors by putting their spin on ceremonies, games, materials, and activities.
Includes:
- 2-Days of Staff Training before the 5-Day Jr. Waterman Program Starts
- Training on how to manage groups and activities
- Participation in activities of the 5-Day Junior Waterman program
- First Aid Certification
- Dedicated higher-level waterman skills training from 2:00 to 3:00 on Tues/Thurs
