The Counselor-in-Training (“CIT”) Program is by application only and is a month-long program for teens ages 14-15 who have a passion for water sports, working with children and a desire to develop their leadership skills in a hands-on environment. By being a CIT, teens train to become future leaders by developing leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, building self-esteem and learning basic training in skills such as first aid, time management and waterman skills. This is a unique opportunity to spend the summer mentoring younger campers, building new paddling and surfing skills, and making new friends. The CITs help the Camp Counselors by putting their spin on ceremonies, games, materials, and activities.
